Any Human Heart: The Telenovelization

Claire Armitstead, The Guardian's literary editor, had this to say today:

Armitstead tweet
which I thought was eerily coincidental given the Shrinking Violets' selected read for last month. It looks like Jim Broadbent will play LMS in his twilight years, and Kim Cattrall and Gillian Anderson will have major roles as well in the four-part adaptation of Any Human Heart.

The page for the Channel 4 (UK) miniseries is here. Unfortunately, if the past is any indication of the present and future state of affairs, it will probably be a while before it comes to US screens — if it makes it across the Atlantic at all.

Hulu, however, has been surprisingly good about picking up UK programs (or programmes, rather) such as Spaced (the director of which, incidentally, later went on to make Shaun of the Dead and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), so the wait to see the screen version of Any Human Heart might not be as protracted as one might fear.
