Just a reminder that author and humorist David Sedaris is back in Spokane on Saturday, May 8. He'll be performing at the Martin Woldson Theater at 8pm. Precisely what he'll be performing isn't spelled out in any of the marketing materials, but I think it's safe to assume that it'll be an evening of droll, observational, self-effacing anecdotes like those in his New Yorker essays and NPR spots. Or maybe that's being too presumptuous, and he'll surprise us all by playing a medley of "Billie Jean" and the overture from Tristan und Isolde on the kazoo.
In the run-up to the show, Auntie's is offering a chance to win a front-row ticket and an autographed hardback of Sedaris' latest collection of essays, When You Are Engulfed in Flames.
For tickets (prices range from $32 to $52) and information, call (509) 624-1200 or visit the Martin Woldson Theater online. Tickets are also available at Tickets West or by calling (800) 325-7328. You can always stop by the theater box office too.
